Celebrate Earth Hour - 8.30pm Saturday 29th March 2014
Join in with millions worldwide and switch your lights off for one hour this Saturday at 8.30pm for Earth Hour!
This Saturday 29 March millions of people around the world will come together to switch off their lights for one hour as part of WWF’s Earth Hour campaign.
Last year, over 154 countries worldwide participated in the global Earth Hour lights out event. Iconic landmarks such as Big Ben, the Eiffel Tower, the Acropolis, the Coliseum and the Sydney Opera House all switched off and hundreds of local communities, schools and businesses took part.
WWF’s Earth Hour campaign is a chance for people to show that they want to do their bit and care about the planet.
Reducing energy use – and improving energy efficiency – is one of the best ways we can cut our carbon emissions. Across the EU, 25% of our CO2 emissions come from the generation of electricity.
By switching off for an hour, many people might realise that they can switch off other non-essential lights and appliances at other times of year too.

2014/15 Fees - look out for your letters / forms
You should all start receiving or have received, a letter (in your child's bag) with details of the nursery fees for the 2014/15 financial year and a form for you to complete to confirm days and sessions.
Parents who are employed by RJAH will generally receive their letters first so that they can be authorised with the payroll system.
Lynne, the nursery manager, explained at the recent Parent Support Group meeting that they had made the decision to keep the fees as low as possible so for a 7 hour or more session, there is only a 50p increase, to recognise the current economic climate.
If you have any queries please contact the Nursery Office.

Share your child's 'wow' moment!
Starting Monday 9th March 2014, the classroom children will be part of a pilot project in the nursery where they will use a Wow Board!
The 'Wow Board' is currently situated on the right wall as you go past the aquarium towards the classroom door. The Wow Board is a tree and on the table below it will be leaves that the children can write on their wow moments and hang on the branches for them to share with everyone.
Wow moments can be anything from recent achievements, news or exciting activities that you and your child have been up to at home e.g. going to somewhere new, spending time with special people, trying out something new, or accomplishing something, or anything your child feels they want to share with the room mates and staff. Examples could include: rides their bike for the first time, has a swimming lesson, a new brother or sister, visits grandparents, sleeps the whole night through! etc
Leaves can be taken home so that your child can think about what they want to put down and then brought in another day. You can even fill more than one in!
Examples will be already on the tree for you to see, and even if you aren't part of the classroom, you are still welcome to read the leaves as we hope that if the pilot is successful, that the Wow Board will be rolled out to the other rooms over the year!
